Methods for combating atmospheric corrosion are various, but until recently most have depended upon preventing air and moisture from contacting metal surfaces. Vapour-phase inhibitors are a somewhat different approach. The metal article and the corrosion inhibitor are simply placed in close approximity and the protective vapours of the inhibitor surround the item.
