Abstract
Investigation report on the collection in the Museum fuer Indische Kunst (Berlin) of mural paintings and reliefs from caves in Chinese Turkestan. Artistic and technical procedures in pigment manufacture are compared to those of Indian manuscripts of the same period (6th-10th century AD). Chromatography, x-ray and infra-red absorption analysis and microscopic examinations were used for the investigation. Tables of results, illustrations, microphotographs, references.
