Abstract
This report describes a visit by the author to the flooded Corning Glass Center Library, and recommendations for salvage and conservation procedures for water damaged books and prints (including drawings, engravings, watercolors, documents, newspaper clippings, broadsides, etc.) Books were promptly transported to nearby freezer plants to prevent mold growth, while prints were treated (eg. unframed, cleaned, dried) by volunteers at the Corning Community College under the supervision of a paper conservator. This report is a reference for emergency and disaster planning for museums, art galleries, libraries and archives. -- CCI
