Abstract
A brief article outlining the building history of the early 16th C. Serristori Palace, Florence (Italy), the re-construction of the roof of the main hall at the end of the 19th c., following its destruction by fire, and the present state of conservation of the roofing. Insect-attack and the use of inadequately seasoned wood have led to subsidence of the upper part of the vault.
