Abstract
A method for consolidating and stabilizing waterlogged wood artifacts has been experimented at the Restoration Centre of the Tuscany Archaeological Department. The technique consisting of using natural resin: colophony (or rosin), was applied to mediaeval combs and produced satisfactory results. The article provides details of the restoration.
