Abstract
One of the prevailing trends in Arab architecture is to use history as a design criterion to solve the question of identity. The public garden design in Cairo by architect Abdel Halim Ibrahim represents a new line of thinking, where the past is perceived as a living process. The first phase of the project was completed in 1989.
