Abstract
The article outlines the history state of conservation and restoration of a walnut wood choir with perspective intarsio work (about 1500, attributed to Bernardino Lendinara). The choir, was built for the church of Sant' Andrea, Ferrara (Italy), but transferred to the Certosa before 1944; it was damaged during the war. The restoration, carried out by the author, involved preliminary facing with protective tissue paper, as it was in a bad state of deterioration. Defibered wedges were used to plug the wood, the support was consolidated, and Paraloid B72 was used to consolidate the wood. The intarsia was fixed with animal glue, and the bearing structures were completely reconstructed.
