Abstract
The article presents proposals for the conservation and consolidation of a 15th century keep which forms part of the Palazzo dei Pio in Carpi (Italy). Part of the structure, floors and pavillion roof are made of wood, some of which will have to be replaced. Consolidation measures for floors and roof involve the creation of reinforced concrete slabs attached to the joists with steel rebars buried in epoxy resin.
