Wooden architectural objects in gardens, especially garden furniture, have not to date been the subject of any in-depth study, whether as regards specific knowledge about them, or as regards the problems involved in their conservation. This paper aims at providing a preliminary schematic identification of the main typologies and of their historic development through the centuries. This basic knowledge is indispensable for identifying suitable conservation methods.
