Abstract
This technical leaflet describes simple, inexpensive methods for improving and expanding existing storage space of small, historical society museums. Consider the nature of the collection, available space, and environmental (eg. temperature, relative humidity, etc.), accessibility, security and future requirements. Increase existing space by use of adjustable steel shelving and large storage racks. Pad shelves with a soft material. Wrap, bag, box or cover objects (artifacts) to protect them from light, dust and/or breakage. References date from 1935-1959. This is a reference for museology and the care and preservation of collections.
