Abstract
This note deals with the actual method adopted for the study of Italian painting grounds in a previous article. The quantitative estimation of the relative proportions of anhydrite and gypsum present in a given ground involved a comparison of the intensities of the strongest lines in the diffraction patterns of these materials.
