Polyvinyl acetate emulsion adhesives, especially formulated for the woodworking industry, are now available. This article gives an account of their properties and applications. Water resistance is of the same order as animal glue. Plastic flow does not occur unless the joint is exposed to high temperature for long periods; dry heat at about 120° will weaken the bond. -- AATA
