An article on the typology and construction characteristics of the ancient wooden structures of historic and artistic interest found in traditional habitations, as well as in religious architecture, both in the Katmandu valley, the centre of Nepalese culture, and in the high valleys of the Himalayas where the influence of Tibetan civilization is evident. In these buildings wooden structures are essential elements in the definition of space, as well as having symbolic significance.
