Abstract
Evaluation of three kinds of impregnating agents applied to paper under artificial aging conditions was performed. The effects of accelerated aging on paper treated with nine commercially available poly(vinyl acetate) emulsion adhesives have been observed. The effects of artificial aging on methyl cellulose formulations have shown them to be generally acceptable, although of limited strength, as adhesives for paper conservation.
