A technique for obtaining cross-sections of hairs and fibers is presented. The method is fast, easy to learn, and quite inexpensive. The procedure, which is a simple hand method, enables the criminalist to obtain in a few minutes criminalist to obtain in a few minutes cross-sections of hairs and fibers which are of high quality and meet all the requirements of most forensic science investivations involving hair and fiber examinations.
