Abstract
The computer registration of records in the Department of Ichthyology and Herpetology, ROM, including a summary of the methods prior to computerization in 1973, is reviewed. The amount and kind of data input, procedures for editing, and the outputs (cards, labels, and tables of data) are discussed with emphasis on the Ichthyology and Herpetology Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) database. -- AATA
