Abstract
The Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) is a branch of the National Programmes Component of National Museums of Canada. It provides the PARIS computer system as a tool for collections management using institutional data bases, and for information sharing using National Data Bases and other automated reference files. CHIN presently serves 156 clients and holds over 2.6 million records, including over 200,000 records on the Humanities National Data Base. (Editor's note: CHIN is now administratively organized within the Department of Communications, Canada.) -- AATA
