Museology acts integratively, linking various fundamental scientific disciplines dealing with museum objects. The analysis of the communication process in the determination of the museological value of objects brings out the importance of the appropriate qualification of the curator-researcher. Two types of information are created in the process: selective (scientific) information based on the knowledge of the methodology of the fundamental scientific disciplines and structural (cultural) information which is the subject of museology. Fundamental scientific disciplines approach the museum object and its semiotic dimension from a documentation and communication point of view while museology employs a communication and information science approach. Fundamental scientific disciplines are primarily analytical while museology is synthetic. The museum object as a subject of study provides an ideal link between museology and other scientific disciplines. -- AATA
