Abstract
During the excavations conducted in 1939 by R. de Mecquenem on the worksite of the Acropolis of Susa, a gold pendant, dating from the end of the IVth millennium was found in a layer of earth corresponding to the recent Urak era. This piece had the particular detail of a ring attached to the center of the animal's back. This technical detail, quite exceptional for such an ancient period, warranted the study of the object in a detailed manner in the laboratory. The materials as well as the construction technique have been documented as a result of the SEM analysis.
