Abstract
The statuary collection for which the National Trust is responsible is widely dispersed throughout the UK. This paper describes the facilities, finances, and staffing of the National Trust Statuary Workshop in Cliveden, Buckinghamshire. Four case studies are detailed: 1) treatment for repair of concrete garden statuary from Mount Stewart, County Down, Northern Ireland; 2) survey and repair of the mortar embellishments at Lady Chapel, St. Michael's Mount, Cornwall; 3) repair of a restored statue of Dionysos, Petworth House; and 4) removal for repair of a large plaster bas-relief from the Pantheon replica at Stourhead, Wiltshire. Acknowledgements and a list of materials and suppliers are included.
