Abstract
Confronted by the accelerating processes of destruction of rock art sites caused by man, Michel A. Garcia and Malika Hachid propose the technique of taking casts with silicone elastomers to facilitate the systematic and exhaustive recording of several hundreds of inventoried sites. This candidly reported experiment is an example of rescue archaeology, that is, when the researcher confronts the impending disappearance of an ornamented wall.
