Abstract
Wool and silk fabrics were dyed with four natural dyes followed by mordanting with iron, copper, chromium, aluminum, and tin ions. Samples of the dyed and dyed-mordanted wool and silk fabrics were exposed to simulated sunlight and soil burial to determine the effect of dye and mordant on the colorfastness and tensile properties of these materials.
