Abstract
In the dyeing of Ryukyu Tsumugi silk fabric, repeated dyeing and sun drying are alternately used so that the color far excels that of the materials dyed by synthetic dyes. This study on the dyeing of silk by natural vegetable dyes extracted from Garcinic, Gardenia, Caesalpinia, and Curcuma was made in order to find methods of improving color fastness when dyeing silk with synthetic dyes.
