Abstract
Pre-Columbian Peruvian methods of spinning, dyeing, and weaving are described along with types of fiber, dye, and design. Fabrics from this time are well preserved due to the arid climate and can be dated from six different periods: Chavin and Paracas IBCI; and Nazca, Tihuanaco, Chancay-Chimu-Ica, and Inca IADI. These fabrics, discovered in tombs, were in the form of plain wovens for the poor and sumptuous fabrics for priests, dignitaries, and members of the aristocracy. -- AATA
