Abstract
Few reverberatory tin-smelters have survived; but the site at Calenick is available for examination and has been compared with photographic and archival records. The manufacturing and smelting processes are described; requirements of materials and water-power are estimated and compared with recorded output. Some analyses of slag are given. Clay and graphite crucibles have also been found at the site and are discussed. -- AATA
