The use of an electroplating technique to reconstruct a damaged area of silver on a silver-clad glass decanter stopper is described. Repairs to the glass were made using araldite AY103/ NY956 before the electroplating was started. The author protected the undamaged silver before immersing the stopper in an electrolyte solution of Zonax silver salts. A silver anode was used. The method of burnishing to blend the new silver in with the old is described.
