Abstract
The cuprous oxide film which forms on copper in benzotriazole (BTA) solution was identified by means of electrode impedance measurements. Analogue circuits for the electrochemical reactions taking place are discussed. The results best fit a model in which BTA adsorption onto the cuprous oxide is controlled both by BTA diffusion in solution and by heterogeneous adsorption of BTA onto the surface. -- AATA
