Abstract
A description of casting pewter from vulcanized rubber molds, with uneven shrinkage of 3%-6% in the final work, and mold distortions. To solve these problems, figurines were cast in numerous small sections and reassembled with pewter solder. The use of clay, wax, wire and plastics as intermediate materiais is also discussed. Plumber's Seal, a two-part epoxy putty, hardened under infrared light, is sometimes used over wire as a base for hard plastilina. -- AATA
