Abstract
Results of elemental analysis by electron microprobe and of lead isotope ratio determination on samples of metal from the two bronzes are presented. They are low-tin leaded bronzes not made from the same original alloy. Thermoluminescent dating of samples from the cores gave mean dates of 1855 A.D. And 1827 A.D.; probably they were in fact cast at different times. Discussion of stylistic parallels and the possible area of origin for the castings is also given.
