The two seriously deformed and damaged shields of embossed bronze sheets from Herzsprung, Wittstock district, were restored; epoxy resin was applied and then PVC hard-foil copies were made by means of the vacuum deep drawing process. Thin silver and copper layers were applied to the copies by the same metal spraying process used in the mirror manufacturing industry. An artificial green patina has made them look like the originals. -- AATA
