Abstract
Calking irons discovered in the wreckage of a 14th century ship were analyzed with regard to their metallogical structure, hardness, and composition. Quantitative analysis of various elements in the objects can aid in ascertaining the source for the iron, which strengthened the ship and prolonged its stability. -- AATA
