Abstract
Between 1971-1974 about two hundred monuments and sculptures of natural stone were treated with stone consolidants. Silicate esters and water soluble silicates were used extensively. Synthetic resins had not proved to be advantageous. For peculiar problems, like the consolidation of stone by recrystallization processes, solutions of inorganic metal salts were used with success. -- AATA
