Abstract
Report on a field trip (1985) to study traditional paper production in nepal and thailand. The author describes techniques used in two nepalese villages and explains the reasons for not removing the glutinous substance from the paper. She compares nepalese papers to those made from mitsumata plants in japan, where tororoaoi mucilage is added to the pulp for a similar effect.
