Discussed is valuable information on research work being carried out in the laboratories of the Ukraine and its application in an increasing number of museums. An explanation of the holographic technique indicates why museums could justify exhibiting the holograms rather than the original artifacts. Applications discussed include exhibition of artifacts too fragile to display; and the identification and analysis of objects, their age and condition. -- AATA
