Abstract
The Preservation Branch of the (Australian) National Film and Sound Archive has been actively working to locate or develop technologies that will safely preserve its holdings which include many rapidly deteriorating nitrate- and acetate-based films. The author describes efforts to copy the archive's film onto polyester-based film, its efforts in conjunction with Kodak to develop molecular sieves to be used in closed film storage containers, and the problems the archive has of projection/player equipment obsolescence. -- AATA
