A computer program was developed, which in conjunction with a computer, calculated moisture distribution, temperature distribution, and average MC of lumber in drying. Parameters were chosen to provide a fit of average MCs obtained from two constant-temperature lumber-drying experiments. Subsequently, the computer simulated two nonisothermal experimenTS drying lumber from the green condition, one in which temperatures were constantly increasing, the other where the temperatures increased in abrupt steps. All simulations produced average MCs at hourly intervals that did not vary more than about 1 percent MC from experimental results. The computer program is reproduced. -- AATA
