Abstract
Metal threads may belong to one of three groups, metal wires, threads made of narrow, thin metal strips, threads made of animal membrane, leather or paper, covered with very thin gold or silver leaf. After examination and analysis it is possible to draw conclusions on the technique, and material of a corroded metal thread.
