Anodic phosphating from sodium phosphate solution, using trisodium phosphate for acidification, has been extended to iron, zinc and manganese phosphate coatings. Results are compared for the anodic and the dip process with respect to coating weight and color. The performance of these phosphate coatings plus one layer of paint in salt spray tests is compared with the pickling. -- AATA
