A record of the results of the specific gravity analysis of almost 100 gold coins from Aksum. The coins were drawn from a number of collections. The results quantify the gradual debasement of the coins, which is visible qualitatively from the change in color. This is related to a newly proposed king list and seems to support the new order which has been derived on numismatic grounds. Many of the kings of Aksum (medieval Ethiopia) are known only from their coins. -- AATA
