Abstract
In Poland, four mining districts can be distinguished which produced ores in the Middle Ages: the lead and zinc-deposits of Upper-Silesia, lead, copper, and silver deposits in central Poland, a small iron district in the Carpathian mountains, and a region in Lower Silesia, where silver, copper, lead and tin were mined. Through excavation and the study of historic records, the history of the early mining techniques was determined. -- AATA
