Abstract
High-tech surveying methods (airplane, satellite, space shuttle) which have come into use over the past five years have produced data of great value to anthropologists and archaeologists. The instruments used allow the detection of people-made features among vegetation and of objects as small as one meter wide. The author mentions several of the instruments favored by archaeologists and a number of projects utilizing data including the survey of the site of Nikopolis, Greece.
