Abstract
The paper contains some observations of the field work of the Lubaantun Project, the main purpose of which was the archaeological investigation of the Classic Maya ceremonial center in Southern Belize (British Honduras). Most potters are wornen. The work is simple with little or no decoration. The clay is red or yellowish, tempered with pulverized local Shells and fired in an open fire. Work is done by hand on a leaf or piece of paper without the aid of a wheel. Detailed description of the making of some standard ware is given. -- AATA
