Abstract
The historical background, condition, testing, and conservation treatment of a lacquered wood sculpture of the god Guan Di (Ming Dynasty) from the Victoria and Albert collection is discussed. Work was done in anticipation of exhibition in June 1991 of this warrior-general representation of Emperor Guan.
