Abstract
Describes two processes of chemical stabilization of corroded iron archaeological objects: 1) very simple and effective deionization using an alcohol solution of lithium hydroxide followed by rust stabilization with a solution of tannin and conservation; 2) rust processing in an alkaline reducing medium, i.e., solution containing tannin, sodium dithionate, and sodium hydroxide. The theoretical principles of both processes are presented.
