Abstract
Moving wooden objects into museums threatens them with excessive absorption or desorption of moisture. Changes in content of moisture can be monitored by resistance meters connected periodically to electrodes screwed permanently into the objects. Comparisons made on western red cedar, western white pine, bass wood, and white oak between resistance meter reading and true moisture content in the range 6 to 21per thousand.
