Abstract
The conservation of natural history collections is just one of the many fields in the discipline of conservation of natural and cultural heritage. Around the world, training is available at the university level, at international institutions such as the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and the Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), and through short courses available at a range of levels and in a number of institutions. There also are a number of organizations at national and international levels that are involved with the promotion of education and training in conservation. Resources available world-wide are discussed, and proposals are put forward to better use existing resources to develop education and training in the conservation of natural history collections.
