Abstract
The hypothesis is that as raw material procurement costs rise, reduction and resharpening techniques will adapt to compensate. The increased use made of cutting tools led to an evolution in resharpening, from hard hammer to soft hammer, to secondary reshaping of flakes, pressure resharpening, and finally edge-grinding.
