Abstract
The excavation of the zone around a carving of Coyolxauhqui discovered in Mexico City (part of the ancient great temple of the Mexicas) would have to take into account its urban environment. The three phases of the proposed plan are described: case study and statement of objectives; excavation; interpretation of the material. The first two phases have been completed. A various aspects of the excavated site are described: its urbans settings, protective roofing, interior walkways, traffic control around the site. A summary of the results of the excavations is also given: architecture, funerary and temple offerings sculptures and other artifacts artifacts, photographs, site plan.
