Abstract
Replacement of silicone rubber with <i>trans</i>-1, 4-polyisoprene (Polivik) in the preparation of mold inserts resulted in a 6-10 fold decrease in mold preparation time in the preparation of cast plaster and epoxy resin models. Inserts were made by heating the Polivik sheets, applying them to the mold surface, and cooling them under pressure. Maximum plasticity and minimum adhesion to the mold were obtained by preheating the sheets in water at 60°-80° C. -- AATA
