Abstract
Purpose of this volume is to provide conservators or other qualified museum personnel with the necessary background to use radiography confidently and safely. The procedures for taking and processing a radiograph are discussed. The apparatus and auxiliary equipment are described and their functions explained. Special techniques commonly used in hospitals but not widely known in museums are described. Objects which can be usefully radiographed are identified. In addition to hands-on information, theoretical factors which affect the finished x-ray are discussed.
